About Chandrayaan-3

Chandrayaan-3 represents India's third lunar mission and marks its second endeavor to achieve a soft landing on the moon's surface. The journey commenced on July 14, 2023, with the launch taking place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. Following a smooth trajectory, the spacecraft gracefully entered lunar orbit on August 5, 2023. A historic milestone was achieved on August 23, 2023, as the lander successfully touched down near the lunar south pole.

Objective of the Mission

The mission aims to showcase a secure and gentle landing on the lunar surface, demonstrate the mobility of a rover on the moon, and carry out on-site scientific experiments.
